Lord Baden Powell

Robert Stephendson Smyth was the surname of “Robert Stephendson Smyth Lord Baden Powell Chief Scout of The World”. He was born at London, 22 February 1857. His father “Baden Powell “ was a Professor of Geometry at Oxford University who died when Stepenshon young.
The Scout movement organization was inspired by the experiences while living of Lord Baden Powell. Left his father since childhood, Baden Powell received coaching character from his mothers. He always trained his skill like sailing, camping, swimming, sport and other. Lord Baden Powell was also very groove with his friends, because hea always happy, funny and smart.
At 19 years old, his was joined in the British army with the rank of Lieutenant Maid. At 26 years old, he reach the rank of captain, and a lot of experience as a cavalry soldier, including besieged the Boer nation In Mafeking Town, South Africa for 127 days and the lack of food. He earned his degree INVESA (wolf that never sleeps) and HALAVANSI (people who shoot while lying down) in Afrika

His experiences are written in the book “Aids to Scouting” (guides to help) and “Scouting for Boys” (guides for the children). This book written in 1908 and thus giving birth of “Penggalang” scout guiding. On April 27, July 1907 his provided a first camp with 21 members of the Boys Brigade at Brown Sea Island.
In 1916, he wrote a book 'The Jungle Book' and be the mainstay the birth of "siaga" scout guiding. In 1910 he came out of the British army with the rank of Lieutenant General. In 1912 he married the "Olive Soames Sonta Clear" at his age 95 years old and blessed with 3 children.
In 1918 he authored the book “Rovering To Succes” and establish the Rover Scout. 1920 World Jamboree was held at Olypia, London and followed 27 participants. Here he adopted as the title of “Mr. Chief Scout of The World” and 1929 he earned “a Lord” from the kingdom of England. Robert Stephendson Smyth Lord Baden Powell Chief Scout of The World was die on 8 January 1941 at Nyeri, Kenya, Afrika.
He really inspired me because his spirit in shaping the scout movement organization and is able to spread the message of peace to the world through the scout movement.
